Bill & receipt setup

What it's for​

Bill Setup is the designer for your printed customer receipt — its layout, what shows on it, how tax is broken out, and the footer message. You edit on the left and see a live preview of the receipt on the right.

This page controls how the receipt looks. The tax rate itself is set in Business profile → Tax & Charges. Here you choose how that tax is displayed on the slip.

Where to find it​

Choose Settings, then Bill Setup (route /settings/bill-setup).

Design the receipt​

  • Layout Template — pick a base receipt style.
  • Restaurant Identity — the name's font, size, and weight; a toggle to Show tagline below name; and a toggle to Show logo on receipt with an Upload logo for receipt dropzone (PNG, JPG, or SVG, up to 2 MB).
  • Display Options:
    • Tax Display — show tax split out as CGST + SGST (Detailed) (or Itemised outside India) versus Combined (Simple).
    • toggles for what appears on each line and slip: unit price, veg/non-veg dot, pax/covers, server name, order number, and payment method.
  • Footer — a Thank you message and an optional Show website URL.

Save​

Bill Setup has its own save button (it's not the shared bar). Choose Save Changes; it confirms with Saved.

Worked example​

A clean receipt with detailed GST. Pick a Layout Template, turn on Show logo on receipt and upload your logo, set Tax Display to CGST + SGST (Detailed), turn on order number and payment method, and add a Thank you message. Watch the preview update, then choose Save Changes.

Tips & things to watch​

  • ✅ Use the live preview — every change shows immediately, so you print exactly what you see.
  • ✅ Detailed vs combined tax is a display choice here; the rate comes from Business Profile.
  • ⚠️ Two logos, two places. The receipt logo is uploaded here; the app/branding logo is on Appearance.
